Artist and curator Richard Kofi (1988, Wageningen) makes drawings, collages, and video work in which abstract and figurative realities intertwine. This allows him to lay bare how past, present, and future inform one another. Co-creation plays a significant part in Kofi’s practice. Kofi has recently teamed up with his partner Junadry Leocaria to create the collaborative art project La Sirène at the Erasmus Huis in Jakarta. In this project, they collaborate with 13 Indonesian-based artists from various disciplines. Kofi currently works as a programmer at the International Theatre Amsterdam and is working on another project with Junadry Leocaria, called Mi Alma, which premiers in May at Korzo Theatre in Den Haag. #afrofuturism
